NHC MUSIC PODCAST etc…

Every fortnight some like-minded music chaps descend upon my studio to record double episodes of the NHC Music Podcast. As the story typically goes, we all got chatting originally through our love of music, specifically the new music in the local scene, and these guys have been increasingly important in pushing Glasgow’s talents to the wider world.

We’ve tried to take the podcast to greater heights and this one was the most exciting so far as it features a live set from Kilmarnock’s incredible ‘HUXTABLE‘

They came down to join in our chat, and played as 5 fantastic songs, one of which was a brand new song exclusively played for the show.

PaperSailor is the rocking little brainchild of Michael Wilson who came into the studio and played everything from drums, to guitars, to irn bru bottles, with the aim of bringing you this 5 song little gem.

Massively enjoyed recording and mixing this. Now let’s hope there’s a live show on the horizon!

‘JULIET’ by HUXTABLE

I’ve been meaning to keep this page updated, I just get so busy and forget!
There’s a lot of great stuff happening just now, I’m recording/mixing some great albums, EPs and singles for a lot of brilliant bands.

I’ll make sure and post that up when it’s all released, speaking of which you should go check out ‘Take Away The Pain’ by Alavano which was released this week. It’s a new single from their album which we recently finished up.

And this video, ‘Juliet’ by Huxtable, is the first song from their mini album that I’m currently mixing. This was incredibly fun, and you’d never think this sound came from just 2 people.

I’M PUTTING ON A GIG… KINDA

With the help of the lovely Taylor McAteer I am showcasing some great talent on the 5th of April in Greenock’s Hangar 18 venue.

I’ve recorded some great bands and artists, and I’ve picked 3 to showcase at this upcoming gig.
Expect drunkenness, loud music, and happy fun laugh happy fun times.

LOTS OF WORK!

I always feel I start my posts on here with “I’m not dead… honestly…”

I just get so caught up with working on loads of projects, and FaceBook is such a big distraction. Ahem, yes anyway…

Recently I wrapped up several videos. All artists I’ve worked with before, and all of the music was previously recorded with me too. This couldn’t be truer of the band White Light Theory who came in a couple of weeks ago, recorded a new single on one day, and then we shot the video the next day. It was all kinds of fun. And chaos. Don’t forget the chaos. A light even fell over and smashed. Imagine that. It’s just like the London riots all over again.

Ruff angel is done.. For now

The lads in Ruff Angel dropped by to get their mastered tracks yesterday. A great outcome to 1 days of hard work.

They’re off to promote their upcoming show at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut and the. They’re immediately back in the studio with me to record 2 more songs at the end of the month.

I’ll upload some photos of the session very soon.
